Frequently Asked
Questions.
Clear, transparent answers about how Preemptive works, Medicare coverage, our clinical care team, and data privacy.
Yes. Preemptive Health is covered for eligible Medicare and Medicare Advantage beneficiaries under established clinical programs, including Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and Chronic Care Management (CCM). For most patients with standard Medicare Part B and supplemental coverage, there is $0 out-of-pocket cost.
No. We do not replace your primary care physician or your specialists. We work alongside them by making the days and months between office visits visible. When meaningful changes occur, your Preemptive care team coordinates directly with you and can share structured longitudinal summaries with your existing doctor.
No additional hardware or wearable device is required. You only need a standard smartphone with a camera. Placing your fingertip over the camera lens for approximately 30 seconds allows our technology to capture rich optical blood-flow signals without charging or pairing separate equipment.
Preemptive works on most modern Apple iPhones (iOS 16 or later) and Android smartphones (Android 12 or later) with a rear camera and flash. Our onboarding team is happy to verify your device compatibility.
For most eligible Medicare patients with supplemental insurance, there are zero out-of-pocket fees. If your specific plan includes a standard Part B copay or deductible, our eligibility team will review all details with you transparently before you begin.
Our goal is not to trigger alarming notifications. When our system detects a deviation from your established personal baseline, a licensed nurse or clinician reviews the data in context with your history. They may send a gentle check-in via the app or call you directly to see how you are feeling, review recent changes (like new medications or diet), and help determine the next appropriate step.
Yes. With your explicit permission, we can include designated family caregivers in care updates, summary reports, and care coordination check-ins so that everyone is informed and supported.
Preemptive Health operates under HIPAA compliance standards. All physiological data and personal health information are encrypted in transit and at rest using enterprise-grade security protocols. Read our full Privacy Policy.
